The first Android N developer preview was launched a month ago and being the first release it had a slew of bugs and unfinished features that could hamper your user experience. The Android team seems to have introduced three major features to the second preview and some of them are very thoughtful. The new launcher shortcut is something that left me impressed, Android N users will now be able to choose up to five shortcuts for sub menus inside the app. Let’s say that you travel every month to a specific place and instead of going to the app and booking the ticket every time all you can do is just shortcut that flight. Android N has implemented Vulkan, a new 3D rendering API aimed at treating the users with better graphics experience. The new API will also show off a significant improvement when it comes to handling heavy graphics on a single core as opposed to the OpenGL ES. Microsoft has indeed taken a lead when it comes to Emoji but Android is not the one to be left behind. With Android N we will be getting support for Unicode 9. With this update the emoji’s will look more human like and will support more skin variations. That being said, we would still suggest to keep your hands off the Android Preview, especially if you use this smartphone as your daily driver.
