In terms of design, Charge 4 appears to have the same design as Charge 3, with a body claimed to be made out of aerospace-grade aluminum, offering three color options along with a special edition model in Black. The tracker still retains its slim and lightweight form factor and offers up to 50 meters of water resistance, making it swim-proof to allow users to track their swimming activity data. Besides, you now get built-in GPS that allows you to leave your phone back home and still track your performance for activities like running, walking, and other outdoor sports accurately. Moreover, the fitness tracker also gets GPS-enabled exercise modes like walking, hiking, or running, alongside the usual 20+ goal-based exercise modes, to offer more health and activity tracking options. Once done, you can then sync your tracker with the Fitbit app on your phone to get a GPS-powered heat map on the Fitbit app that highlights things like your activity intensity or heartbeat to give you an insight into your performance based on different terrains. Besides, you get better sleep tracking with a detailed daily look and the ability to set alarms or activate Sleep Mode to stay true to your sleep schedule. Moreover, Charge 4 also gest the SpO2 sensor, as can be seen on most fitness trackers these days, which allows you to view an estimated oxygen level in your bloodstream to indicate variations in breathing during sleep. The touch screen on top gives access to call, text, and other app notifications, with quick reply features for certain apps (available on Android), or the convenience to mute alerts using the Do Not Disturb mode. Fitbit claims, Charge 4 offers up to 7 days of battery life on a single charge, with up to 5 hours on continuous GPS usage. Another interesting addition with the new tracker is the support for Spotify (Premium required), which brings all your favorite playlists and songs to your list to keep you motivated while your workout. Talking about fitness tracking, Charge 4 comes with Active Zone Minutes, which is a new personalized standard that, based on your resting heart rate and age, tracks any sort of workout that gets your heart pumping. So, be it yoga or indoor biking, the feature takes care of all the data. The company is also adding a few new extra features to Fitbit Premium, which includes various workouts, challenges, mindfulness tools, etc. And, to allow new Premium users to experience it, there is a free 90-day trial period that gives insight into all these features in addition to some more free content.
Fitbit Charge 4: Pricing and Availability
The Fitbit Charge 4 is priced at Rs 14,999 for the regular variant and Rs 16,999 for the special edition model. In the US, it starts at $149 with 3 months of free Fitbit Premium. It will be available globally starting in April.
