Moto G6 vs RealMe 1
On first glance, it might seem like both the Moto G6 and RealMe 1 feature a glass exterior but the former of the two is the only one with an actual Gorilla Glass shell. In addition to that, the Moto G6 is even splash-resistant. The RealMe 1, on the contrary, is made out of plastic and a polymer composite material. A tall 1080p LCD screen is present in either case, although the RealMe 1 has a slightly larger 6.0-inch display against the Moto G6’s 5.7-inch panel. The Moto G6 also scores points in the biometrics department since unlike the RealMe 1, it still carries a fingerprint sensor in spite of the availability of a software-based facial recognition feature. Another Moto G6 attribute worth praising is the USB Type-C port on the bottom. The RealMe 1 still has a MicroUSB one. The RealMe 1 comes out on the top as far as performance is concerned, though. It’s powered by a significantly more powerful Helio P60 chipset compared to the Moto G6’s Snapdragon 450. The entry model of both of them offers 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage. On the highest end one, while the Moto G6 only has 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, the RealMe 1 features a whopping 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. Another feature common among the two is the 8-megapixel f/2.2 sensor on the front. The rear is an entirely different story, however. While the RealMe 1 makes due with a single 13-megapixel lens, the Moto G6 has a dual setup which houses a primary 12-megapixel snapper and another 5-megapixel one. Surprisingly, the RealMe 1 ships with a more latest version of Android — 8.1 as compared to Android 8.0 on the Moto G6. The battery is also marginally bigger by a couple of hundred amperes on the former at 3,410mAh (vs 3,000mAh). The Moto G6 starts at Rs 13,999 for 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and goes all the way up to Rs 16,999 for 4GB RAM, 64GB storage. The Oppo RealMe 1 is priced at Rs 8,990 for the entry-level variant and Rs 13,990 for 6GB, 128GB storage.
Moto G6 vs Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1)
Clearly, the Moto G6’s most striking edge over Asus’ budget contender is its title. Jokes apart, however, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1) does have a handful of critical upper-hands in this comparison. For starters, it comes with a 0.3-inch bigger 1080p screen, Android 8.1 as compared to Android 8.0 on the Moto G6, a much superior Snapdragon 636 processor, and nearly double the battery at 5000mAh. While they share the same 5-megapixel secondary sensor on the back, the Zenfone Max Pro has a 13/16-megapixel (16MP on the 6GB RAM variant) primary one against Moto G6’s 12-megapixel shooter. The 6GB RAM option of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro also has a higher-res 16-megapixel selfie camera (8MP on others), whereas the Moto G6 sports an 8-megapixel lens. The Moto G6 comes out on the top in the build section, though. It flaunts an all-glass design against the Zenfone’s conservative aluminum chassis and a USB Type-C port instead of a MicroUSB one. In addition to that, the Moto G6 is even splash-resistant. Both of them come in 3GB, 32GB or 4GB, 64GB storage flavors, although the most expensive variant of the Zenfone Max Pro has 6GB of RAM. The Asus Zenfone Max Pro costs Rs 10,999 for the 3GB/32GB variant and Rs 12,999 for the 4GB/64GB variant.
Moto G6 vs Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro
Lastly, we have the phone people are literally killing for getting their hands on. Alright, that was a joke (maybe). I’m, of course, talking about Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Moto G6 again falls short in roughly the same areas as it did with the Asus Zenfone Max Pro. The Redmi Note 5 Pro has a larger 6-inch 1080p screen, a beefier Snapdragon 636 chip, 1000mAh more battery, a 6GB RAM variant, and a much more capable 20-megapixel selfie camera. On the other hand, the Moto G6 impresses with its all-glass body, a USB Type-C port, and a cleaner Android 8.0 software. At the time of writing this article, the Redmi Note 5 Pro was running the dated Android 7.1.2. In addition to that, the Moto G6 is even splash-resistant. Both of them have mostly identical rear camera specifications — a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel pair coupled with dual-LED flash. Although it’s worth noting the aperture of the primary lens on the Moto G6 is much smaller at f/1.8. Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro starts at Rs 14,999 for 4GB, 64GB storage, and Rs 16,999 for 6GB RAM.
Moto G6 vs Honor 9 Lite
The other all-glass smartphone available in this price range, the Honor 9 Lite also manages to give tough competition to the Moto G6. It comes with a HiSilicon Kirin 659 octa-core chipset, and two camera sensors on the front and rear (13+2MP). Both have a 5.7-inch 1080p screen, 3 or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of storage, and 3000mAh battery. The Honor 9 Lite costs Rs 10,999 for 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage and Rs 14,999 for 4GB RAM, 64GB memory.
