The Mi Smart Speaker comes with a cylindrical design with a metallic finish and a 0.7mm thin metallic mesh. It has an Aura inspired light trim on the top edge that lights up when the voice assistant (Google Assistant) is trigger. Besides, the top features touch controls to increase/decrease the volume, mute the speaker, and play/pause music. The speaker comes with a 63.5mm (2.5-inch) front-facing driver that suggests outputting 12W power. What’s more, it supports DTS audio codec and includes Texas Instruments’ Hi-Fi audio processor (TAS5805M). The speaker also comes with built-in Chromecast support. Xiaomi says talking to the Smart Speaker is made easy with the two far-field microphones on top that can detect voice across the hall. The Mi Smart Speaker comes with Bluetooth (4.2) and Wi-Fi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and also offers support for the daisy-chaining arrangement for surround sound experience. As already mentioned, the Mi Smart Speaker comes with Google Assistant, which can be used to control connected devices and appliances at home get weather updates, set reminders or tasks, and get answers to different questions.
