We already knew pretty much all of the specs of the Lumia 550 thanks to a leak from two weeks ago. The Windows 10 smartphone has a quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 210 processor and LTE but the rest of the specs haven’t been yet officially announced. However, if recent leaks are indeed true, then we should expect a 5-inch HD display, 5MP/2MP cameras, 8GB of storage with support for microSD and a 1,905 mAh battery. Compared to the he Lumia 520 and 530, the biggest difference on the Lumia 550 is the larger screen, up from only four inches in previous models to five. The 5-inch device is meant to replace the Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL as Microsoft’s budget phone for developing countries, and budget oriented customers in the US and Europe. The Lumia 550 will retail for $139 this December in European markets but Microsoft plans to expand availability in 2016. While the future of this handset is not sure, it could become an interesting device for those looking to get a feel of the newest Windows 10 mobile operating system for an affordable price. The new affordable smartphone is going to be available in red, white, blue, and black, and will use the same styling as previous low-end Lumia phones: black glass fronts, with a wraparound polycarbonate shell.
