To give you some background, a few weeks back, Realme CMO, Francis Wang, teased the launch of new smart TVs at the Mobile World Congress, which was to be held in Barcelona this week. However, taking into consideration the purview of the Coronavirus outbreak, GSMA had to call off the event for this year. As a result, Realme, along with a bunch of other smartphone brands, are left with no option but to hold their individual events for announcing their products down the pipeline. One such brand, which managed to do so, is Sony, which announced four new smartphones today. Taking into account the current scenario, Realme India CEO, Madhav Sheth, in an interview with TrakinTech said that the company is all set to launch a wide range of products, including smart speakers, in India, in the coming months. During the interview, he also mentioned that Realme will also launch its smart TV in the country, sometime around Q2 2020. Moreover, a couple of weeks back, the company introduced its upcoming IoT app, Realme Link, and the CEO also showed the Realme Band and Realme Buds Air, hinting towards their launch. Not to mention, the much-anticipated Realme Band — which has been widely rumored ever since its first alleged images started floating online — in three different strap colors also being showcased and teased for its launch.
As of today, during the announcement of the Realme X50 Pro, Sheth took it to stage to announce that the company will be introducing the Realme TV, customized for India, sometime in Q2 this year. Furthermore, the much teased and anticipated Realme Band also gets a launch date, and it will be announced on March 5, alongside a catalog of products that include smartwatches, noise-canceling earphones, smart speakers, soundbar, and a few other smart home appliances.
From what it seems, Realme is gearing up to make its mark in product categories other than just smartphones, and establish itself as a tough competitor among other brands.
