Redmi 9: Design and Display
In terms of design, the Redmi 9 appears to follow a somewhat similar design language as the Redmi K30, with a circular ring around the camera module. The rear comes with a textured design to protect the back from smudges and has a gradient color finish that gives it a unique look and feel. Towards the front, the device features a 6.53-inch FHD+ dot drop display, which provides a 19.5:9 aspect ratio at an 89.83% screen-to-body ratio. The display gets Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection against dust and scratches. Redmi 9 comes in three colorways: Carbon Grey, Sunset Purple, and Ocean Green.
Redmi 9: Performance
At its core, the Redmi 9 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 chipset with Mali-G52 GPU, which is an octa-core processor built on the 12nm process. Assisting the processor is 3GB / 4GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 32GB + 64GB of eMMC 5.1 onboard storage. To power the internals, the device includes a 5020mAh battery with 18W Quick Charge 3.0 support over USB Type-C. For connectivity, the device includes support for dual 4G VoLTE, WiFI 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC. Besides, the device includes a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB Type-C port, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for authentication.
Redmi 9: Camera
In the camera department, the Redmi 9 sports a quad-camera array with an LED flash. The setup includes a 13MP (f/2.2) primary sensor accompanied by an 8MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide-angle lens with 118° FoV, a 5MP (f/2.4) macro lens, and a 2MP (f/2.4) depth lens. On the front, the device has an 8MP selfie çamera with an f/2.0 aperture.
As for the video, the camera on the Redmi 9 can shoot 1080p @30fps and 720p @30fps.
Redmi 9: Pricing and Availability
The Redmi 9 comes in two configurations: 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB, priced at €139 and €169 respectively. As for availability, the device will go on pre-booking on June 15 and will be available starting June 18, in Spain.
