Both Galaxy Book Flex and Galaxy Book Ion feature the world’s first QLED display on a laptop. The display comes with Outdoor Mode to offer a maximum brightness of 600-nits. As already mentioned, the laptops also support the Wireless PowerShare feature that allows users to charge their Qi-compatible devices by placing them on the laptop’s touchpad.
Galaxy Book Flex
Samsung is marketing the Galaxy Book Flex as a premium 2-in-1 device that is designed to be portable-enough and still deliver performance. For this, it has a 360-degree hinge that allows the device to be used as both — a laptop and a tablet. Further, there is also support for S Pen, which now comes with new gesture controls to enhance productivity.
As for the specifications, the Galaxy Book Flex comes in two screen sizes: 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch, with a QLED panel with 1920 x 1080 (Full HD) pixels screen resolution. It is powered by Intel’s 10th Generation (Ice Lake) processor with either Intel Iris Plus or NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe SSD. For connectivity, the device has 2x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 1x USB-C port, and one UFS/MicroSD combo. Additionally, there is a fingerprint scanner for security and support for S Pen.
Galaxy Book Ion
Unlike the Galaxy Book Flex, which has a 2-in-1 device (that transforms it into a laptop or a tablet), the Galaxy Book Ion, on the other hand, is marketed as an ultra-lightweight PC. It has a clamshell frame with an ultrathin design that makes it portable enough to carry around without compromising on the power.
In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Book Ion also comes in two screen sizes, 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch, and have a QLED display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD) resolution. At its core, the laptop has Intel’s 10th Generation (Comet Lake) processor with either Intel UHD or NVIDIA GeForce MX250 graphics, paired along with up to 16GB of DDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe SSD. Further, it has 1x Thunderbolt 3 port, 2x USB-C ports, 1x HDMI port, and one UFS/MicroSD combo, for connectivity.
