The listing has been removed since then, but you can see in the above screenshot the cached page. It’s quite weird that the device has first popped up at a place where one would usually expect camera equipment to be up for sale. The listing describes the Galaxy View as Samsung’s biggest Android tablet & movable media display, which speaks about its destined use. Here are some more details from its description: The slate is priced at $600 for the 32GB version, which is apparently WiFi only. The tablet is said to have a 8.5 hours battery on continuous viewing, which once again speaks about the fact that Samsung wants buyers to use it as a media device. Here’s how the rest of its specs looks like:
Android Lollipop Exynos 7580 octa-core 1.6GHz processor 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage (expanded up to an extra 128GB via MicroSD card) 5,700mAh battery Stereo speakers Bluetooth 4.1 and a 2.1MP front facing camera
The huge display has a 1080p resolution, so even if the rest of its specs aren’t necessarily top of the line, it’s still quite enough for those who don’t plan to use it for heavy tasks. But if this indeed turns out to be the case, then this device won’t be of great use for such categories as engineers and architects. However, it could make for a great presentation tool. As the device has already become shortly available for pre-order, then this means the official launch isn’t too far away.
